The First World War Memorial for the parish of Alne-with-Aldwark is a marble plaque commemorating the names of 21 men who lost their lives in the First World War.
Amongst the names are those of 4 soldiers who served with the Yorkshire Regiment.

Private Robert Henry Midgley. 32832. 3rd Battalion
the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Mary Midgley, of Aldwark, and the late Ben
Midgley. Died at home 2 November 1916. Aged 23.
Born Easingwold (Yorks), Enlisted Skipton, Resided Linton-on-Ouse (Yorks).
Buried ALDWARK (ST. STEPHEN) CHURCHYARD.
(Name spelt "Midgeley" in SDGW)
Corporal William Owen Palliser, 30356.
9th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 27 October 1918.

Private James Morrell. 33216. 8th Battalion the Yorkshire
Regiment. Son of Isaac and Mary Lee, of Aldwark, near Alne, Yorkshire. Killed
27 October 1918. Aged 25.
Born Old Wark (Yorks), Enlisted Northallerton.
Buried GIAVERA BRITISH CEMETERY, ARCADE.
Private George Ward. 28292.
7th Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 8553 the Yorkshire Regiment.
Son of James Ward, of Linton-on-Ouse, and the late Jane Ward;
husband of Elizabeth Ward, of Linton-on-Ouse, York. Killed 12 May 1917. Aged
28.
Born Alne (Yorks), Enlisted Tollerton, Resided Alne.
Commemorated Bay 4 and 5, ARRAS MEMORIAL.
