Born Sleights (Yorks), Enlisted Whitby, Resided Sleights (Yorks).
(Arthur Dale was the son of Thomas and Martha. In the 1911 census, the family
lived on Low Newbiggin Farm, Egton. The farm is close to Sleights. Arthur
was 20 at the time, working as a farm hand. Arthur's parents were Thomas and
Martha, aged 65 and 59 in 1911. They had had 12 children and were farmers.
Albert's sister Edith was his sole legatee.)
