Serjeant James Ward. 41841. 10th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 160054 RFA. Husband of Elizabeth Ward, of 110, Lynwood Avenue, Darwen, Lancs. Killed 11 April 1917. Aged 33.
Born Darwen, Enlisted Darwen.

Lieutenant Colonel Oliver Cyril Spencer Watson, VC, DSO. Cdg. 2nd/5th Bn. King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Son of William Spencer Watson, F.R.C.S., and Georgine Mary Jane Mair Watson. Served in the Tirah Campaign with the Yorkshire Regt., also served in China during the Boxer rebellion.
Died 28 March 1918. Aged 41.
Commemorated on Bay v1, ARRAS MEMORIAL.

Private George Meers Watson. 123141. Machine Gun Corps (Infantry), formerly 3879 Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Zephaniah and M. S. Watson, of 16, Park St., Middlesbrough. Killed 28 March 1918. Aged 19.

(According to the 1911 Census, his full name was Edward Ernest Wort and he was living at 14 Berkeley Road, Southampton.
From the Hampshire War Memorials website, Edward Wort was also commemorated on a lost memorial in St Mark's Church.)
