The Barking War Memorial is located in Barking Park, and consists of a wall bearing 14 panels commemorating just under 600 names of those who fell in the First World War. The panels are in bronze, with enamel lettering.

The names of those commemorated can be found on the website for the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.

8 soldiers who served with the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated on this memorial.

Serjeant William Thomas Brett. 8514. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Mentioned in Despatches Son of Mrs. H. Johnson, of 71, East St., Barking, Essex. Killed 26 September 1915. Aged 27.
Born Bethnal Green (London), Enlisted Stratford, Resided Barking (London).
Commemorated on Panel 44 and 45, LOOS MEMORIAL.

Private Robert Richard Cantellow. 353142. 9th Battalion Royal Scots, formerly 5700 the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Robert Richard and Elizabeth Cantellow, of 55, Harpour Rd., Barking, Essex. Killed 24 March 1918. Aged 20.
Born Spitalfields (Middx.), Enlisted Newcastle, Resided Barking (Essex).

Private Sydney James Cardy, 40721. 6th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Formerly 26660 Essex Regt. Son of William Isaac and Sarah Cardy, of 45, Howard Rd., Barking, Essex. Killed 14 August 1917. Aged 19.
Born Barking, Enlisted Stratford, Resided Barking.

Private John McDonnell. 23889. 5th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 27 May 1918.

Lance Corporal Frederick Meloy. 59005. 8th Battalion Cheshire Regiment, formerly 8643 the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Meloy, of 54, Sheringham Avenue, Manor Park, Essex. Killed 30 April 1917. Aged 27.

Private Henry Charles Stokes. 39983. 1st Garrison Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 30072 West Riding Regt. Died 1 August 1918.
