The Brand Family headstone in Barkingside Cemetery commemorates Charles Brand, his wife Susan, and sons George William, Charles and Thomas Charles.
Of the sons, George William and Charles were killed in the First World War. George William served with the Yorkshire Regiment.

The commemoration on the headstone reads;-

IN LOVING MEMORY / OF / MY DEAR HUSBAND
CHARLES BRAND
WHO PASSED AWAY 23RD JUNE 1930 / AGED 70 YEARS
ALSO
GEORGE WILLIAM AND CHARLES / SONS OF THE ABOVE
WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR
ALSO
SUSAN BRAND / BELOVED WIFE OF CHARLES BRAND
WHO PASSED AWAY 27TH MARCH 1945 / AGED 84 YEARS
ALSO THOMAS CHARLES / SON OF THE ABOVE
WO PASSED AWAY 6TH NOV 1942 / AGED 59 YEARS

Private George William Brand, 41191. 9th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Charles and Susan Brand, of 52, Netley Rd., Newbury Park, Ilford, Essex. Killed 20 September 1917. Aged 32.
Born Homeron, Enlisted Ilford (Essex).
Commemorated Panel 52 to 54 and 162A, TYNE COT MEMORIAL.
