Barningham used to be in the North Riding of Yorkshire, but
boundary changes in the 1970s now place Barningham in County Durham.
The Barningham War Memorial has now become virtually llegible in respect of
the names of those who fell in the FIrst World War. The view below shows the
state that this memorial is now in. The names of the men from the First World
War could be transcribed with great difficulty using an enlarged and enhanced
digital image, though some of the names remain in doubt.
Thre names of those who fell in the Second World War are clearer, though it may not be too long before they, too, beocme hard to read.
The names of those who fell in the First World War are;-
