The War Memorial for Barrow-in-Furness is located in Barrow
Central Park.
The memorial is a Cenotaph on a stepped base. The First World War commemorations
are on plaques arranged round the base of the Cenotaph; the Second World War,
and later, commemorations are on metal plaques on the railings that surround
the base.
584 names are commemorated as having lost their lives in the
First World War.
303 names are commemorated as having lost their lives in the Second World
War and subsequent conflicts.
The names of those who lost their lives in the First World War have been transcribed on the Lost Ancestors website, and images of the commemorative plaques are provided.
2 soldiers who served with the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated on the memorial.

Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Duncan McDougall, of 21, Hibbert Rd., Barrow-in-Furness.
Killed 9 April 1917. Aged 34.
Born Haverthwaite (Lancs), Enlisted Barrow.
Buried NEUVILE-VITASSE ROAD CEMETERY.
Private Herbert Pickles Myers. 79046.
1st/7th Battalion Durham Light Infantry, formerly 6659 the Yorkshire Regiment.
Killed 29 March 1918.
Born Barrow-in-furness, Enlisted Barrow-in-furness.
