St Peter's Church in Barrowden is located at the end of a lane leading from the village centre.
The War Memorial consists of an elaborately painted wooden tablet,
with hinged leaves on either side which bear the names of those who lost their
lives in the First World War. Above this memorial is another painted tablet
with the names of those who died in the Second World War.
There are 14 names commemorated for soldiers of the First World War, and 4
for the Second World War. Amongst the names is one soldier who served with
the Yorkshire Regiment.

Regiment, formerly 36898 Leicester Regt. Son of George William and Fanny Wright,
of Church Farm, Barrowden, Stamford, Rutland. Died 4 November 1918. Aged 27.
Born Barrowden (Rutland), Enlisted Uppingham (Barrowden).
Buried Peshawar (Right) B.C. XLV. 35.
Commemorated on Face 1 of the DELHI MEMORIAL (INDIA GATE).
