The War Memorial Outside St. Mary's Church in Castlegate, Berwick-upon-Tweed

The War Memorial for Berwick-upon-Tweed is a sculpture of a winged Angel of Peace on a square plinth, standing on a two-stepped base. The dedication and commemorations are inscribed on cast metal plates attached to the four sides of the plinth.
474 names are commemorated as having lost their lives in the First World War. Although there is a dedication to those who lost their lives in the Second World War, no names are commemorated for this war.
Magicfingers has photographed the memorial and the commemorations on his website. We are very grateful for the use of these photographs.
A transcription of the names commemorated is provided on the North East War Memorials Project website.
