The War Memorial in the Church of St. James, Boroughbridge, is a black metal plaque on which the names of men who lost their lives in both World Wars are inscribed.
The names are extremely difficult to read, being "black on black", and good lighting is essential to read them.

The names of the men recorded on it are;-

Private Guy Wardley, 10468. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of John and Lilian Wardley, of St. James's Square, Boroughbridge, Yorks. Killed on 12 March 1915. Aged 19.
Born Boroughbridge, Enlisted Malton, Resided Boroughbridge
Commemorated Panel 12, Le Touret Memorial.

2nd Lieut John Finlayson White
. 6th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Killed on 7 August 1915.
Brother of Captain Archie Cecil Thomas White, VC, also of the 6th Battalion. Captain Archie White was with John F White with the Battalion at Gallipoli, but was ill with dysentery at the time of the action in which his brother was killed. Captain Archie White survived the War.
