The War Memorial for Bottesford in the Church of St. Mary the Virgin consists of two tablets. The upper tablet commemorates 29 men who lost their lives in the First World War. Against the names of these men are the names and badges of their regiments.
The lower tablet commemorates the names of 8 men who lost their lives in the Second World War

Private Charles Alliss, 203184. 8th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of George and Annie Alliss, of Easthorpe, Bothesford (sic CWGC), Notts; husband of Emily Alliss, of Redmile, Nottingham. Killed 28 September 1917. Aged 32.
Born Eastville (Lincs), Enlisted Middlesbrough.
Buried TYNE COT CEMETERY.
