The book "The
Great War Heroes of Bridlington" by Chris Bonnet and Mike Wilson,
provides biographical information on every person whose name appears on the
various War Memorials of that town. This book also provides photographs of
the memorials, with transcriptions of the names that appear on the memorials.
The book can be thoroughly recommended to anyone with even a passing interest
in the First World War, as the biographies are supplemented with a wealth
of photographs and information on aspects of the war.
We are extremely grateful to Chris Bonnet and Mike Wilson for use of the photographs,
and additional biographical information, from their book.
The Yorkshire Regiment Remembrance website includes details of, and the names
on, the main Cenotaph War Memorial for
Bridlington and the War Memorial
in Christ Church, Bridlington.
This page, however, provides photographs of the War Memorials for Bridlington
School, the Priory Church in Bridlington, and Trinity Church. The photographs
are available at a size large enough for transcription. The names on these
memorials have not been detailed on this page.
