The Brigouse War Memorial commemorating the fallen of both World Wars is situated in Rydings Park in Brighouse. The memorial is a stone column surmounted by a sculpture of Victory, with the names of those commemorated incised into the fours sides of the column.
392 names are commemorated for those who lost their lives in the First World War, and a smaller number for the Second World War. Amongst the names are 13 men who served with the Yorkshire Regiment.
A full transcript of the names on the memorial is provided on the Yorkshire Indexers website.
We are very grateful to R L Colton for permission to use his photos of the Brighouse War Memorial.
