The War Memorial for Brompton (Near Northallerton) is the Lych Gate to St. Thomas' Church. The gate bears the commemoration;-

"To the Memory of those who gave their lives in the Great War 1914 - 1919"

There are two panels listing the names of those who died in the First World War (one on each side of the inside of the gate). Two smaller panels bear the names of those who died in the Second World War. The panels are shown below, with those for the First World War being of sufficient resolution for transcription.

Private William Joseph Burn. 1155. 4th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Matthew Thomas and Martha Burn, of 4, Primrose Terrace, Brompton, Northallerton. Killed 2 May 1915. Aged 22.

Private James E Neesam. 38449. 157th Provisional Coy. Royal Defence Corps, formerly 3890 4th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of George and Alice Neesam, of Brompton; husband of Elizabeth Neesam, of High End, Brompton. Died at home 19 January 1918. Aged 38.
Not shown in SDGW, but is recorded in the Medal Index Cards.

Lance Corporal Thomas George Raper. 27878. 7th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Jane A. and the late Thomas Raper, of Northallerton, Yorks. Died of wounds 27 April 1917. Aged 19.

Sergeant Gordon Smith Tyerman. 9594. 2nd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, transferred to 477075 125th Coy. Labour Corps. Died at home 22 February 1919.
Not shown in SDGW, but is recorded in the Medal Index Cards. Recorded in CWGC as "S G Tyerman". Was with the original 2nd Battalion who embarked on 5 October 1914.

Private Fred Tyreman, 1813. 4th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Tyreman, of Brompton, Northallerton, Yorks. His brother George W. also fell. Killed 27 February 1916. Aged 18.
