The cemetery now contains 1,901 burials and commemorations of the First World War. 168 of the burials are unidentified but there are special memorials to 23 casualties known or believed to be buried among them. Three of these are from the Yorkshire Regiment ("Known to be Buried in this Cemetery" and "Believed to be Buried in this Cemetery").
One unique grave is that of Private Joseph Standing Buffalo
of the 78th Battalion Canadian Infantry. Private Standing Buffalo was the
great grandson of Chief Sitting Bull of the Battle of Little Big Horn.
Amongst the graves are 28 for identified soldiers who served with the Yorkshire
Regiment.
We are extremely grateful to Chris Cosgrove (<trainscpc@aol.com>) who has generously provided the photographs on this page, together with photographs by Chris Weekes (<weebex12@hotmail.com>).
