The Duston War Memorial is located at the junction of Church Street and High Street in Burton Latimer.

The names of 102 men from the First World War are commemorated and 24 men from the Second World War.
There is a transcript of the names on the memorial on the Burton Latimer Heritage Society website. This site is funded by the Heritage Lottery and the text is the copyright of the Burton Latimer Heritage Society but is available for non-commercial use.

Amongst those commemorated is one soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment.


Private Gerald Towers. 202265 (6146). 4th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 5353 Northants Regt. Son of Jonathan A. and Alice Towers, of Tenter Lane, Finedon, Northants; husband of the late Mabel Maria Towers, of Burton Latimer. Killed 23 April 1917. Aged 24.
Born Finedon (Northants), Enlisted Finedon.
Commemorated on Bay 5, ARRAS MEMORIAL.
