The Byers Green War Memorial is for both the First and Second World Wars. The names for men who died in the First World War are on the sides of the memorial, and for those who died in the Second World on the rear of the memorial. One soldier of the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on the memorial, and his details are shown below. All the names for the First World War are shown at the bottom of this page.

The memorial has a dedication on its front face which is interesting as it gives no date for the end of the First World War. Possibly the reason for this is that the memorial was commissioned before the official ending of the war as declared by Act of Parliament (August 1921).
