The War Memorial in Carperby, a village close to Aysgarth Falls, is in the main street just East of the Market Cross.
The memorial commemorates 6 men who lost their lives in the First World War, 1 in the Second World War, and 1 in a subsequent conflict.

Amonst the names commemorated is 1 soldier of the Yorkshire Regiment, who is incorrectly shown as having served in the West Yorkshire Regiment (and in a different battalion).


Private Henry Armistead Storey. 20524. 9th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Fred and Maria Storey, of Bardin Lane Farm, Constable Burton, Yorks. Killed 2 August 1916. Aged 24.
Born Downholme (Yorks), Enlisted Leyburn, Resided Carperby.
Buried ALBERT COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION.
