4th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Mrs. Rebecca Green, of Dalton, Thirsk. Died at home 2 October 1916. Aged 19.
Enlisted Thirsk, Resided Dalton.

Private John Richard Wells. M/279411. Army Service Corps.
Formerly 12607 Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Mrs. Elizabeth Wells, of The School House, Dalton, Thirsk. Died 29 July 1918. Aged 21.

(Not shown in SDGW. However, his Medal Rolls Index Card shows that he entered the War on 29 September 1915 in Egypt. He is shown in the Green Howards Gazette database as having been wounded in July 1916, indicating that he was in the 6th Battalion and had served in the Gallipoli campaign.)
