Durham (St. Giles) Churchyard Extension contains 5 burials from the First World War. The cemetery is now extremely overgrown and in need of tidying up.

One soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is buried in this cemetery, with his burial being almost at the end of the qualifying date for a First World War headstone.

We are extremely grateful to Norman Cummings (<norman_cummings@hotmail.co.uk>) for providing the photograph of the headstone and photographs of the cemetery.
