Edinburgh (Grange) Cemetery contains 40 Commonwealth War Graves from both World Wars. Amongst the burials is one Officer of the Yorkshire Regiment, who is buried in a family grave.

Lieutenant Hugh Mosman is buried in the Mosman family grave, which is inscribed "The Burying Ground of Hugh Mosman of Auchtyfardle and Canaan". This Hugh Mosman was Lieutenant Hugh Mosman's father. The family grave is shown below.

We are most grateful to Norman Cummings (<norman_cummings@hotmail.co.uk>) for providing the photos of the cemetery and the Mosman grave.

Although only the barest details of Lieutenant Mosman can be found in the Commonwealth War Graves register, e.g.;-

2nd Lieutenant Hugh Mosman. 4th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Died at home 12 February 1916.

We are fortunate in that considerably more detail is provided in De Ruvigny's Roll of Honour. The section covering Lieutenant Mosman is shown below;-
