The War Memorial for Chatteris is located in front of St. Peter's Church. It is in the form of a lantern cross made from stone.

The memorial commemorates 158 names for the First World War and 38 for the Second World War. A full transcription of the dedication and of the names can be found on the Roll of Honour website.

One soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on this memorial.


Private Thomas William Richardson. 242491. 5th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Matthew and Annie Elizabeth Richardson, of 4, Burnsfield St., Chatteris, Cambs. Killed 1 November 1917. Aged 21.
Enlisted Wisbech (Cambs), Resided Chatteris.
