The Clare War Memorial stands on the main road through Clare in the Market Square. 32 names are commemorated as having lost their lives in the First World War, and 5 are commemorated as having lost their lives in the Second World War.

In addition to this memorial, a plaque is located in the Parish Church commemorating the above names.

6th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 4416 Suffolk Regiment. Son of William and Lily Mizen; husband of Jessie Jay (formerly Mizen), of Farmers Farm, Stoke-by-Clare (Suffolk).
Died at home 10 May 1921. Aged 25.
Enlisted Bury St. Edmunds, Resided Clare (Suffolk).
Buried CLARE CEMETERY.
