A FIrst World War Memorial for Cleethorpes consisted of a set of bells in the church tower and a 20 foot high Cross of Sacrifice on three octagonal steps in the churchyard. The names of those who lost their lives in the war are commemorated on a slate tablet set in the wall of the church.

The memorial was dedicated in March 1920, and the slate tablet was replaced in 1989 as the original tablet had weathered badly.

111 names are commemorated for the First World War on the tablet.
Of these names, 2 are for soldiers who served with the Yorkshire Regiment.
