The main commemoration, - on the East face, is dedicated
HERE AMID THE HALLOWED GRAVES/ OF THEIR DEPARTED THE PEOPLE/ OF CLEOBURY NORTH HAVE PLACED/ THIS MEMORIAL TO THOSE WHO DIED/ FOR THEIR KING AND COUNTRY/ IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918

6 names are commemorated for the First World War on the plaque below the main commemoration. Of these names, one is for a soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment. Both plaques are now very severely weathered and the inscriptions are difficult to read.

A plaque on the West face of the memorial commemorates one person who died in the Second World War.

Born Cleoburn (North Shrops), Enlisted Richmond (Yorks).
