Colchester's War Memorial is located at the entrance to Colchester Castle, off the High Street in Colchester.
The memorial is a three-stepped base surmounted by tall stone pedestal and bronze figure of winged victory on orb holding inverted sword and laurel wreath.
The memorial itself carries no names, though is fully described on the Camulos website.
The names of the 1263 persons who lost their lives in the First World War, however, are inscribed on vellum and these names are displayed in the entrance to the Town Hall.
A transcription of all the names is on the Camulos website.

Two soldiers who served with the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated on the memorial.
