The First World War Memorial for Cranbrook (Kent) is a stone
plaque inside St. Dunstan's Church. The memorial commemorates 106 names of
those who lost their lives in the First World War.
A separate plaque commemorates 25 names of those who lost their lives in the
Second World War.
A separate War Memorial located off the High Street in Cranbrook
is dedicated
TO THE MEMORY OF THE MEN OF CRANBROOK WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR
THOSE NAMES ARE ENGRAVED ON THE MEMORIAL IN THE PARISH CHURCH
One soldier of the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on the Cranbrook War Memorial in St. Dunstan's Church.
Private Richard Edwards. 35139. 5th Battalion the Yorkshire
Regiment, formerly 34546 9th T R Battn. Son of Albert and Amelia Edwards,
of New Cottages, Flishinghurst, Cranbrook, Kent. Killed 20 August 1918. Aged
19.
Born Cranbrook (Kent), Enlisted Ashford, Resided Flishinghurst (Cranbrook).
Buried GLAGEON COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION.
