The (old) Dewsbury War Memorial is located in Crow Nest Park, Heckmondwike Road, Dewsbury (Kirklees, West Yorkshire). This particular memorial was unveiled in September 1924, and rededicated in May 2012.
A new War Memorial, used for ceremonial purposes, is located in the centre of Dewsbury, - not far from the Town Hall, and was unveiled in 1995. This particular memorial has no names on it.

The War Memorial in Crow Nest Park is a round tower with internal vault and piers supporting a capitol. In the centre is a tripod candle holder. There is a doorway on one side of the memorial with decorative grille. The whole stands on a large paved base with three steps leading up to it.
The names of those killed in the First World War are commemorated on marble plaques set round the sides of the tower. The names of those killed in the Second World War are on tablets placed on a low wall on either side of the base.
A transcription of the names on this memorial is given in the Yorkshire Indexers website and the War Memorials On Line website.
