Richard Roberts (<richard.nsw@googlemail.com>) has forwarded photos of the War Memorial inside the Minster Church of St. George in Doncaster. Richard provides the following information on this memorial;-
"The church was rebuilt in the late 1850s after a fire destroyed the mediaeval church on the site. The new church was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott and is a sublime example of Victorian Gothic revival architecture. There are certainly some magnificent stained glass windows.
Inside, there is a 1914-1918 Memorial commemorating 112 local men who fell, including the names of 2 soldiers who served in the Yorkshire Regiment.
Tthe blurred appearance of the lettering on the memorial is due to the cleaning of the memorial over many years.
