The War Memorial for Eldon District (Eldon, Old Eldon, and Eldon Lane) is situated in the North East corner of the St. Mark's churchyard. Behind the memorial is an avenue of trees, almost certainly planted at the time of the memorial and forming part of it. Three War Graves are close to the memorial, and a further War Grave is nearby. A fifth War Grave from the First World War is in the old part of the cemetery near the East Path.

The dedication on the memorial reads;-
SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS DISTRICT WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918.
"THEY DIED THAT WE MIGHT LIVE IN FREEDOM AND PEACE."
ERECTED BY PUBLIC SUBSCRIPTION.
