The memorial inside the old Town Hall (click on the image for a larger version

The Fenton (Stoke-on-Trent) War Memorial stands in Albert Square in front of the old Town Hall, which is now used as a magistrates court. The memorial itself has no names inscribed on it, but inside the old Town hall there is a ceramic memorial on which all the names are recorded. Unfortunately, for security reasons, photographing this memorial is not readily permissible. However, there is a photograph on MilitaryImages.Net by member "28th61st" and the photograph by this member is shown below. Permission has been requested for use of this image.
The name of one soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is shown on this memorial.

Lance Corporal Walter Salt. 29615. 13th Battalion the
Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 30628 Notts & Derby Regt. Son of Walter and
Lucy Jane Salt, of 51, Frederick St., Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent. Killed 26 July
1917. Aged 19.
Born Fenton (Staffs), Enlisted Stoke-on-Trent, Resided Fenton (Staffs).
Buried FINS NEW BRITISH CEMETERY, SOREL-LE-GRAND.
