Framlingham's War Memorial is located in St Michael's Churchyard, Church Street, Framlingham, Suffolk.
60 men who lost their lives in the First World War are commemorated on the memorial, togther with 23 men who lost their lives in the Second World War. Biographies of those named on the memorial can be found on the Roll of Honour website, as well as on the Framlingham Historical Archive website.
Three soldiers who served with the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated on the memorial.
Private William Chilvers, 33367. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment.
Formerly 3315 Suffolk Regt. Killed 31 July 1917.
Born Ipswich (Suffolk), Enlisted Ipswich, Resided Framlingham.
Commemorated on Panel 33, YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL.
Private Harry George Warner. 33362. 6th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment,
formerly 1442 Suffolk Regiment.Son of William and Susannah Warner, of Railway
Terrace, Framlingham. Died at home 15 January 1918. Aged 24.
Born Framlingham.
Buried FRAMLINGHAM CEMETERY.
Private Ernest Woods. 260087. 9th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment.
Son of Walter and Roseanna Woods, of Badingham, Framlingham, Suffolk. Killed
5 October 1918. Aged 20.
Born Badingham (Suffolk), Enlisted Ipswich, Resided Framlingham (Suffolk).
Buried DOINGT COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION.
