Central Liberal Club
There are two War Memorials in the Golcar Central Liberal Club, - located
in Church Street, Golcar.
One memorial, - a brass plaque commemorating those who died, surrounded by
panels honouring those who served, is for the First World War. 14 men are
commemorated as having lost their lives on this memorial, of whom 2 were men
who had served in the Yorkshire Regiment.
A further memorial commemorates those who died (1 man) and served in the Second
World War.

Lance Corporal Thomas Beaumont Iredale. 28794. 7th Battalion Yorkshire
Regiment. Son of Sam Iredale, of 13, East St., Golcar, Huddersfield. Killed
14 May 1917. Aged 23.
Born Huddersfield, Enlisted Huddersfield, Resided Golcar (Near Huddersfield).
Commemorated on Bay 5, ARRAS MEMORIAL.
Private Harold Pearson. 28807. 7th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment.
Son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Pearson, of Golcar, Huddersfield; husband of Mary Eliza
Pearson, of Church St., Burton Pidsea, Hull. Killed 17 July 1917. Aged 29.
Born Burtoncliffe Head, Enlisted Milnsbridge, Resided Golcar.
Buried ST. NICHOLAS BRITISH CEMETERY, FRANCE.
