The First World War Memorial for Great Dunmow (Essex) in St. Mary's Church is a marble plaque that commemorates 85 names of those who lost their lives in the First World War. A transcription of all the names, with a number of biographies, is provided on the Essex Voices Past website.

Private Percy Charles Archer, 33600. 8th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Formerly 283930 R A S C. Son of Arthur and Florence Archer, of 35, High St., Dunmow, Essex. Killed 15 July 1917. Aged 19.
Born Dunmow (Essex), Enlisted Braintree, Resided Dunmow (Essex).
Commemorated on Panel 33, YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL.
