The War Memorial in Griston, - Norfolk, Ss Peter & Paul's Church includes the names of six men from the First World War and 2 from the Second World War. Two of those named were soldiers who served with the Yorkshire Regiment.

Private Ernest George Brett. 4474.
2/5th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment.
Son of Benjamin and Charlotte Brett; husband of May Julia Brett, of Griston, Thetford.
Died at home 21 November 1916. Aged 36.
Enlisted Norwich, Resided Griston.
Buried GRISTON (Ss PETER & PAUL) CHURCHYARD.

Private John Vout. 23297. 13th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Harry William Vout, of Caston Rd. Griston, Thetford, Norfolk. Killed 30 April 1917. Aged 34.
Born Shipdham (Norfolk), Enlisted Kiverton Park, Resided Wales (Near Sheffield).
Buried FIFTEEN RAVINE BRITISH CEMETERY, VILLERS-PLOUICH.
