The Stoke-on-Trent (Hanley) War Memorial stands in front of the Town Hall. The names of the dead of both World Wars is commemorated on a Roll of Honour which is located inside the Town Hall. A photograph of this Roll of Honour is shown below.

The names on this Roll of Honour were at one time given on the Local Government website for Stoke-on-Trent. Unfortunately, though, the link from the above website to this Roll of Honour has been removed and is no longer accessible. An explanation for this was provided by Jonathan Goodwin, Senior Planning Officer for Stoke-on-Trent, as follows;-
"Until recently, a transcription of the Hanley roll of honour (albeit an incomplete one) appeared on the ‘Exploring the Potteries’ website, a link to which could be found on the Potteries Museum website. This content was removed earlier this year and is no longer available, either to council staff or the general public. I must admit that I cannot tell you precisely why ‘Exploring the Potteries’ was taken down, although the project was undertaken some time ago and the content had not been updated for several years. I am not aware of any plans to re-publish the information held on the site."
