The War Memorial for Hessle

The War Memorial for Hessle stands in the churchyard of All
Saints, Hessle, and commemorates the residents of Hessle who lost their lives
in both the First and Second World Wars. The names of 104 men from the First
World War are commemorated on the memorial, including three men who served
with the Yorkshire Regiment.
The photographs of the memorial and the commemorations have been kindly provided

Regiment. Killed 12 July 1917.
Born Swanland (Hull), Enlisted Bridlington.
Buried HENINEL COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION.
Private Frank Poulter. 24401. 9th Battalion Yorkshire
Regiment. Killed 10 July 1916.
Born Hessle (Yorks), Enlisted Flaxton (Yorks).
Commemorated Pier and Face 3 A and 3 D, THIEPVAL MEMORIAL.
2nd Lieutenant Charles Walter Tune. 13th Battalion
Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Charles and Annie June, of Hessle, Yorks. Killed
23 November 1917. Aged 22.
