The Husbands Bosworth War Memorial is situated on the High Street
in Husbands Bosworth in front of All Saints' Church.
14 soldiers of the First World War are commemorated, including three men of
the Yorkshire Regiment.
Private Frank Connor. 5th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment.
Although listed on this memorial, no record can be found for him. It is possible
that he was wounded and died at home.
Corporal Horace William Matthews. 29744. 13th Battalion
Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 31664 Notts & Derby Regt. Killed 5 October
1917.
Born Walton (Leicester), Enlisted Market Harborough, Resided Husbands Bosworth
(Nr Rugby).
Buried ROCQUIGNY-EQUANCOURT ROAD BRITISH CEMETERY, MANANCOURT.
Private Arthur Reginald Marsh. 44561. 1st Battalion
the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of the late William and Mary Augusta Marsh, of
Husbands Bosworth, Leics. Died 25 June 1918. Aged 33.
Born Husbands (Bosworth - Leicester), Enlisted Market Harborough, Resided
Husbands (Bosworth).
Buried Peshawar (Right) B.C. XXV. 729.
Commemorated on Face 1, DELHI MEMORIAL (INDIA GATE).
