The War Memorial at Hutton-le-Hole.

The War Memorial at Hutton-le-Hole is in the form of a cross, and is located on the village green. On three of the faces, the inscriptions are for men who served in the First World War. On the fourth face are inscribed the names of three men who gave their lives in the service of the country.

(1) The following information has been sent by Eric Bellwood <eric@gorecourt.freeserve.co.uk>
regarding the Prattley family;-
"Regarding A Prattley (who fell) and T W Prattley (who served) in the
1st World War. Information has now come to my attention through a researcher
who is doing a study of the Prattley family that Albert is commemorated on
the commonwealth war graves site, under the name Albert Prattley EMMITT.
He was a private no. 241552, 5th Bn Yorks Regt. He is listed under his mothers
maiden name Hannah EMMITT (1868-1904). His father was Francis George Prattley
(1868-1947).
(2) C Frank is a name from the Second World War. After receiving information
from a member of the Hutton-le-Hole Parish Council the following has been
determined about this soldier.
Christopher Frank was the son of Herbert and Margaret Ann Frank of Hutton-le-Hole.
(Married Q3 1908)
He was born in Q3 1918, was a Gunner in the RHA, and was killed on 14 June
1943, aged 24. He is buried in the Tripoli War Cemetery.

Private Albert Prattley Emmitt. 241552. 5th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment.
Son of Francis George Prattley, of Hutton-le-Hole, Kirkby Moorside, Yorks,
and the late Hannah Prattley. Killed 26 March 1918. Aged 27.
Enlisted Malton, Resided Kirbymoorside.
