TO THE GLORIOUS MEMORY OF THE MEN FROM THIS PARISH WHO DYING VALIANTLY HELPED, BY THE POWER OF GOD, TO SAVE THEIR COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918.

2nd Lieutenant John Fawcett. 3rd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Robert and Louisa Fawcett, of Lowlands Farm, Yarm-on-Tees, S. Yorks. Died 8 May 1918.
Buried VOORMEZEELE ENCLOSURE No.3.

Private Bertram Bransby, 26716. 9th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Thomas and Rose Ann Bransby, of Battersby Junction, Great Ayton, Yorks. Killed 20 September 1917. Aged 21.
Commemorated Panel 52 to 54 and 162A, Tyne Cot Memorial.
Born Battersby, Enlisted Stokesley, Resided Battersby (Great Ayton, Yorks).
