The First World War Memorial for Kearsley (Bolton) in Stephen's Church commemorates 56 names of men who lost their lives in the war.

Two soldiers who served in the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated on this memorial.

Private Harry Ashton, 38835. 8th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of William Henry and Bertha Ashton, of 112, Grosvenor St., Kearsley, Farnworth, Bolton. Killed 7 October 1917.
Born Farnworth (Bolton), Enlisted Yarmouth.
Commemorated on Panels 52 to 54 & 162A, TYNE COT MEMORIAL.

Serjeant Joseph Hamblett, 17431. 10th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Samuel and Maria Hamblett, of 6, St. Stephen's St., Kearsley, Farnworth, Bolton. Killed 26 September 1915. Aged 24.
Born Kearsley (Manchester), Enlisted Newburn, Resided Kearsley.
