The Lichfield War Memorial.

The Lichfield War Memorial is located in a picturesque garden setting between Minster Pool and Cathedral Close off Bird Street.
The memorial commemorates the names of 222 men who lost their lives in the First World War, as well as a number from the Second World War.
Two soldiers who served in the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated on this memorial.
Private Henry Charles Collins. 33774. 5th Battalion the Yorkshire
Regiment, formerly M/284934 R A S C. Son of Edward and Louisa Collins, of
10, Ivanhoe Rd., Lichfield, Staffs. Died 28 January 1919. Aged 20.
Born Lichfield (Staffs), Enlisted Lichfield.
Buried NIEDERZWEHREN CEMETERY.
Private John Gilbert Smith, 46812. 2nd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment,
formerly 35642 N Staffs Regt. Killed 21 March 1918.
Born Lichfield, Enlisted Lichfield.
Commemorated on Panel 31 and 32, POZIERES MEMORIAL.
