The Stoke-on-Trent (Longton) War Memorial is a Cenotaph inside which are the panels commemorating the war dead.
This impressive War Memorial commemorates all those from Longton and District who died in both World Wars and conflicts since. The Cenotaph is situated in the grounds of Longton Park off Trentham Road. Unfortunately, locked gates prevents access to the interior so close up pictures of the sixteen Roll of Honour Plaques is not possible.

3 men who died whilst serving with the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated on this memorial. Photos of the panels on which their names are recorded are shown below, together with a photo of the Cenotaph itself.
Additionally, one man who had previously served with the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on the memorial.

Private John William Hall, 60574. 9th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Hammer Hall, of 30, St. Martin's Lane, Longton, Staffs, and the late William Hall; husband of E. Hall, of 22, Leaks Alley, Longton. Killed 26 October 1918. Aged 23.
Born Longton (Staffs), Enlisted Longton.
Buried PREMONT BRITISH CEMETERY.

Private George Hart, 10186. 10th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Mrs. Mary Harper, of Diamond House, Lord St., Redcar, Yorks; husband of Lena Hart, of 31, Carlisle St., Dresden, Longton, Staffs. Died 12 July 1916.
Born Norton (Stockton), Enlisted Richmond, Resided Stockton.
Buried DANTZIG ALLEY BRITISH CEMETERY, MAMETZ.

Company Serjeant Major James Thorley. 29393. 13th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 6741 North Staffs Regt. Son of James Thorley, of Longton, Staffs; husband of Catherine Mary Thorley (nee Duckering), of 34, Wolfa St., Derby. Killed 21 August 1916. Aged 33.
Born Longton (Staffs), Enlisted Lichfield, Resided Longton.
Buried MAROC BRITISH CEMETERY, GRENAY.

Private William Benjamin Wood. 34750. 2nd/5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's (West Riding Regiment), formerly 46822 the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Annie Whitehurst (formerly Wood), of 16, Hope St., East Vale, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, and the late David Wood. Killed 20 October 1918.
Born Longton (Staffs), Enlisted Stoke-on-Trent, Resided Longton.
Buried QUIEVY COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION.
