We are very grateful to Ian King, of the ipernity website, for allowing us to use his photo of the War Memorial in the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Micheldever.

The memorial, a scripted Roll of Honour, commemorates the names of 30 men who lost their lives in the First World War, together with 7 who died in the Second World War. Two other names have subsequently been added, - one casualty each from the First and Second World Wars.Transcriptions of all the names on the memorial, together with biographical details, are provided on the ipernity website.

Private Percy Baverstock. 42280. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 163732 RFA. Son of the late William and Elizabeth Baverstock; husband of Edith M. Wren (formerly Baverstock), of 4, Manor Villas, Bleadon, Weston-super-Mare. Killed 2 April 1917. Aged 38.
Born Weston (Hants), Enlisted Cheltenham, Resided Worcester.
Commemorated on Bay 5, ARRAS MEMORIAL.
