There are three panels on the Middleton-in-Teesdale War Memorial
which commemorate
a) The dead of the First World War
b) "Those who died from the effects of War Service", and
c) The dead of the Second World War.

Two names for soldiers of the Yorkshire Regiment were found. Details are below.
Private William Hutchinson, 28396. 6th Battalion Yorkshire
Regiment. Son of Matthew and Ada Hutchinson, of Hope House, Middleton-in-Teesdale.
Died of wounds 15 August 1917. Aged 22.
Born Middleton-in-Teesdale, Enlisted Barnard Castle, Resided Middleton-in-Teesdale.
Buried DOZINGHEM MILITARY CEMETERY.
Lance Corporal James Brown Taylor, 41191. 2nd Battalion
Royal Dublin Fusiliers, formerly 5710 the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of James
and Mary Taylor, of 6, Victoria Terrace, Middleton, Co. Durham. Died of wounds
21 January 1918. Aged 24.
Enlisted Richmond (Yorks), Resided Middleton-in-Teesdale.
Buried TINCOURT NEW BRITISH CEMETERY.
