The War Memorial for Newbold, Derbyshire, is situated opposite the Wheatsheaf Inn at the junction of Newbold Road and Littlemoor, Chesterfield.
74 names from the First World War are commemorated on the memorial, including one soldier (Private Arthur Foster) who served with the Yorkshire Regiment. His brother, William Henry Foster, who served with the KOYLI is also commemorated on the memorial.


Private Arthur Foster. 18430. 6th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 19761 Yorks L I. Son of William and Mary Foster, of Newbold, Chesterfield. Killed 24 November 1915. Aged 29.
Born Newbold (Chesterfield), Enlisted Doncaster, Resided Brampton (Chesterfield).
Buried HILL 10 CEMETERY.
