Private Thomas Cole, 28271. 9th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Ben and Jane Cole, of Newsham; husband of Margaret Ellen Cole, of Newsham, Barningham, Darlington. Killed 23 June 1917. Aged 35.
Born Gainford (Durham), Enlisted Dalton, Resided Newsham
Buried DICKEBUSCH NEW MILITARY CEMETERY EXTENSION.

Private Christopher Brown Johnson. 2508. 4th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of William Graham Johnson, and Sophia Johnson, of Earby Hall, Newsham, Richmond, Yorks. Killed 17 September 1916. Aged 22.
Born Reeth (Yorks), Enlisted Northallerton, Resided Barnard Castle.
Commemorated Pier and Face 3 A and 3 D, THIEPVAL MEMORIAL.
