The War Memorial for Newton Abbot

The Newton Abbot War Memorial is a pillar with a figure of Victory
on its top. The pillar is in Devon Square, off Queen Street.
At the base of the pillar are 4 bronze plaques, - one on each face, commemorating
the dead of the First World War. There are 232 names on these plaques.
Behind the pillar is a wall on which are set bronze plaques commemorating the dead of the Second World War. There are 129 names on these plaques.

Born Newton Abbott (Devon), Enlisted Plymouth.
