Rachel Farrand has kindly forwarded photos of the War Memorial in Nottingham's Albert Hall (Methodist) Mission. The photographs were taken for the United Kingdom War Memorials Project, who are happy that they be shown on this website, but copyright remains with Rachel Farrand.

Rachel provides the following information on this memorial;-
"The former Mission is now a conference centre/concert hall. The memorial is still in the same place in the entrance and I gather the décor of the walls is original.
I haven’t yet found Private Burdell's name on a parish church memorial but his parents' address is Ilkeston Road, which is in Radford. The two parish churches in Radford have been demolished and the memorials lost, so assuming Burdell lived at home and this was the family’s address during the relevant period, he could have been commemorated on one of the missing memorials."

One soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on the War Memorial.

Private Vivian Brough Burdell. 35098. 4th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 88740 Notts & Derby Regt. Son of Walter and Ida Burdell, of 229, Ilkeston Rd., Nottingham. Killed 4 June 1918. Aged 19.
Born Nottingham, Enlisted Derby, Resided Nottingham.
Buried COLOGNE SOUTHERN CEMETERY.
