Inside the Church of St. Mark with St. Paul, Old Ford (London), the First World War Memorial is a marble plaque on which are commemorated the names of 200 men who lost their lives in that war.
The London
WW1 Memorial website has transcribed the names of those commemorated on
the memorial, and provides brief biographical details on some of these names.
(Rather confusingly, this website also provides the names of men who lived
in the parish, but who are not shown on the memorial, on the page for "Old
Ford". There are 53 such names, including 2 soldiers of the Yorkshire
Regiment.)
1 soldier of the Yorkshire Regiment is amongst those commemorated on the memorial itself.
Private Thomas Joseph Gibbs. 10145. 2nd Battalion the Yorkshire
Regiment. Son of Mrs. S. E. Gibbs, of 48, Essex St., Kingsland Rd., Shoreditch,
London. Killed 15 June 1915. Aged 30.
Born Hoxton (London), Enlisted London, Resided Hoxton N E.
Commemorated on Panel 12, LE TOURET MEMORIAL.
